This is the latest in my procrastination fun. If you did not read my previous blog, that’s where you’ll find Day 1 and 2 (click on Day 1 and 2 for link) of the December Bookish Challenge by bookish_tea_room on Instagram. Feel free to join the fun!
Day 3
Fireside
Let me start by saying if you are ever in Parksville, British Columbia, you have to check out Fireside Books. As the bookmark says, “new and used”. Parksville has amazing beaches and we were delighted to find this amazing bookstore. Perfect for my bookish fireside promt. And what’s more perfect for sitting by the fire than a beach read?
Set in Canada’s Prince Edward Island, this book brought back lots of memories of seafood and beaches. Nothing better.
Day 4
Cookie Day
Girl Guide cookies and the last two stained glass window cookies that my granddaughter helped to make seem like good choices for this national day. Apparently a date was set in 1987 by a cookie company, as a way of bringing attention to cookies, no doubt. I like the idea of supporting the Girl Guides by indulging in their cookies and who better to help us celebrate girl power than our national fictional heroine Anne Shirley.
As a child I read every Anne of Green Gables book that LM Montgomery wrote. The stack in the photo is what I have collected after giving away all my original Anne books. My favourite book in the stack is my copy celebrating 100 years of Anne that I picked up at Green Gables during the special anniversary celebration year.
Happy December! I hope your world is filled with lots of books that bring you warm memories!
