Happy December everyone! If you have not checked into my bookish december challenge, it begins on my post Seasons of Writing, (click on link) when I decided to post it instead of my usual Cozy Reading Corner. Today the fun continues with a nod to blue jeans and the colour red. One thing I’m enjoying a lot about this challenge inspired by bookish_tea_room on Instagram is that I’m rediscovering lots of books in my shelves that I had completely forgotten about. Many books find a new home at our favourite used bookstore Fair’s Fair so the one’s still on my shelves have been kept for a reason. Join in on the fun if you like! There’s still time!
Day 5
Blue Jeans Day
Sadly I’m missing book 1 of The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants but with a prompt like blue jeans, these are definitely the books that came to mind. I love the magic of the pants and how they fit each young woman perfectly and I loved each of their stories. Brilliant. They are still available but I’m partial to these original covers.
Day 6
Red
This is quite an eclectic collection of red books from my shelf. Something for everyone. Inkheart and FireStar are both Young Adult fantasy books and then there’s the classic House at Pooh Corner. Apples Never Fall is from my To Be Read shelf and I’m looking forward to getting to that one soon. Liane Moriarty is a fairly recent discovery for me. I loved What Alice Forgot, The Husband’s Secret, and Big Little Lies. It amazes me how she is able to build the suspense and spring the plot twists on the reader at the last moment. Not surprising that her books are popular. No challenge would be complete without including our own Margaret Atwood. The Handmaid’s Tale is an interesting read these days considering current events although I have to admit I’m leaning toward lighter more hopeful stories.
Happy reading and may you have many cozy moments with your books this holiday season.
